Hi,
Can anyone tell me who designed the 3 Rambo knives seen in the movies? I seem to remember it was Jimmy Lile but in a United Catalogue it says that the models are licensed copies originally designed by Hibben.
Whats the score?
cheers

Hi Ken,
Lile designed and made the knives for the first two movies and Hibben the third.

I think Jimmy Lile -- and FIRST BLOOD -- did more for high-end knives than anything. Too bad so many "fly-by-night" knife companies started making those crappy compass-in-hollow handle survival knives. I had an Ontario brand, as a kid, and was ticked off that it didn't have a compass!

However, it should be noted that the United Cutlery Rambo knives are not as good a quality as those from Lile knives.

I believe United Cutlery uses 420J, whereas Lile knives configures their Rambo replicas in both D-2, and 440C.
