Randall blade steel

Once more, if you look at this thread, the are several references to the multiyear wait to get a Randall knife, compared to blackjack and others (without paying jacked up prices). I said that is a myth and I stand by that statement despite your trying to parse pathetic.

If you order a Randall made to your specifications from the Randall site, you're going to have a wait. That is a fact. It's a fact. Period. If I call today, and say "I want this model knife, with all of these customizations", they're going to tell me "Whelp, we'll put your name on the list, take your $50, and we'll give you a call at some point in time in a few years."

That means that the wait is NOT a myth, despite your ridiculous bleating that it is. Anyway, I'm not responding further, because low post count noobs who want to make dumbass claims and then get mad when they get called on them bore me. This is a waste of time.

Discuss the topic, not each other. Personal insults and arguments serve no purpose other than to get yourselves infracted and possibly have the mods lock the thread. That doesn't help anyone.

The Site here:

Goto Page here: http://www.randallknives.com/faqs/

Read this:

"Unfortunately, we do not have knives available from stock. Demand is generally so great for all models that we normally have a backlog of years. Currently, we are scheduling knife deliveries for 2nd quarter 2018."

Or go right here to the order form..

NOTE: ORDERS ARE LIMITED TO ONE KNIFE PER HOUSEHOLD EVERY THREE MONTHS.
Orders received now are being scheduled for shipment in approximately 4 years, year 2018.

You cannot get a Randall made to your specifications either. You can select from limited Randall Shop options, but there is no deviation made for customer requests. That will be a short phone call.

Enough juvenile behavior......There will be no more trolling or insults in this thread. Either civilly discuss the topic itself or the thread will be closed.

I've seen more than one Randall broken under a few batoning hits.
Randall is a legend but today knives are built for exposition, steel used is not relevant.

Randalls replicas built by industrial brands are far more performing.

Like Morgan cars. They are expensive, wondeful, vintage looking, but if you want a safe and faster car a nissan is far better, for example, at a fraction of the price.

Quiet:

You can get a Randall with any options you want in 4-6 months. There are several authorized dealers that will do this with no markup. I just had a fully optioned model 15 done and got the knife in only 4 months. If you order direct from randall you will wait about 5 years and believe it or not many purists still prefer this method, however you can get them exactly how you want much quicker if you want,

I don't see how O1 around 55-56 HRC will last 30 years of use. That is if you keep sharpening it, which is what those who actually use those knives would have to do. Now, if you leave factory edge and keep "using" it, sure, 0.25" thick bar of steel will last, question is how much cutting it will really do.
They do have a value, but it's not related to steel or performance anymore, IMHO of course :)

bdmicarta,

Nice knives, the third knife in the picture (micarta handle) has the same spacers as my model 11-4 1/2 with the same spacers, leather handle and double SS on blade however the S's are one over the other not side by side. don't know what year it is but I really like the knife. I use my Randall's all the time, these new ones are nice and the Alaskan Skinner is my favorite. I haven't seen another Randall stainless steel knife marked like mine.
