I just bought a nice 5" Gambler, but the sheath is not an original. Looking for an original if anyone knows of one. Thanks

Thanks. I am going to contact them this week. I read somewhere that they may mark replacement sheaths with an R or something. Would prefer that it just have standard stampings.

Have a look at this thread, the OP had a new sheath made for his father's knife:

It doesn't show the back of the sheath, but I don't think they would bother marking it as a replacement, although if it's an old knife the sheath may be obvious as a replacement, they have had different makers over the years.

I'm pretty sure you can order one from Randall Made.
Randall does sell replacement sheath for a fair price, one does however have to send the knife in "to match the sheath", which is to prevent folks from ordering sheaths and selling them at flipper prices.

Thanks, but paying to ship the knife back and forth seems like a lot of effort unless its to custom fit the sheath.

Back in 1985 I was on orders for overseas, Okinawa, Japan, but would be deploying through out South East Asia. I wanted to get a Bees waxed sheath for my Randall 14, as the original sheath had seen 15 years of field duty. I had to send the knife with my sheath back to Randall, supposedly to make sure it had a "proper fit." Finally got my knife, old and new sheath back. I was not impressed with the fit of the new sheath, and doubt very seriously if they even consider if it fit correctly, as it was a loose fit. John

It has a very nice Warlander Leather sheath. Maybe I'll just be happy with that until I run across an original Randall sheath someday.
