Well, just got the letter in the mail today and it's official.

I'll be be a proud owner of a Randall 1 6" stainless blade with Commando style handle
sometime in the year 2016... This five year wait is a bummer:p

How many here has ordered direct from Randall Knives? Is the order time frame set in stone?

Oh well, I consider it an investment and it'll be here eventually.
 
Mine was five years and three months I think (Model 2). The wait was a bummer, but it did show up. Right now I'm waiting on a Kyle Royer custom, another five year wait, but will be much, much more expensive then that Model 2. :) And so very worth it.
 
Thanks for the replies, I looked at Nordic but they didn't have the particular knife I want and they charge a premium (understandably.)

So, five years it is... I should of ordered one of these three years ago when I first started wanting one ;)

Several great dealers out there that charge catalog price at the time of delivery. Delivery time ranges anywhere from 6 months to about a year.

Thanks for the info guys, I should of done some more homework before I ordered...

I think I'm probably going to contact one of those dealers before too long, call me impatient if you want to but I don't want to wait the full term for the factory order ;)
 
I have the model 1 six inch in carbon steel. Sweet feeling knife in the mits. It is at least 20 years old. Bought mine from a dealer many years ago. Is the extended wait for a new blade worth it? Don't know...but life is precious and time is short.
