Random FrankenLeek

Looks great! I would have to have one of those, if they ever went into production.

Did you photoshop that PE Leek? It looks a lot like mine except for the G-10 texture! :D

I was wondering when you would notice that PE blade.
Unfortunately it's Photoshopped. :(

I'll have to wait until Kershaw ships the new PE Random Leeks to make a real one.

i dunno if its the lighting or not, but was the serrations photoshoped on the first one?

The serrated edge was real. The plain edge was shopped.

Serrations are opposite in real life and Photoshop.

Easier to add in real life than to take away.
Easier to take away than add in Photoshop. :D

i asked because of the lighting. serrations took a interesting shadow

Straight edge one looks very nice and it'd prolly be my next knife.

Would this be assisted opening?

Hows that style blade work for stabbing? (Not that I intend on stabbing anything but ya never know)

All the Leeks come from the factory with assisted opening (SpeedSafe).
Don't forget, this Random Leek was assembled from three separate models of Leek.
Maybe if enough people say that they want one like it Kershaw will consider doing a run of them.

The reverse tanto blade should be a bit stronger than the standard point for penetrating things.

BTW, here are the specs for the knife as it is assembled in the photos.

Blade Steel: S30V stainless-steel, chromium nitride coated.

Blade Shape: modified tanto with combo edge (plain edge versions of the Random leek have not shipped yet, as far as I know.)

Handle: 410 stainless-steel, tungsten DLC coated (Frame-Lock side). 3-D Machined Black G-10 Scale.

Blade Length: 3 in. (7.5 cm)

Closed Length: 4 in. (10.3 cm)

Overall Length: 7 in. (17.8 cm)

The three donor knives used to assemble it were, the 1660TGRYST (blade), 1660T1G10 (G-10 scale and steel liner), and 1660CKTST (black tungsten DLC coated frame-lock).

I got a replacement set of screws of the correct length and put them in last Friday. The blade is better centered, and I am now confident that the knife is solidly together.

I've been carrying it instead of my Mini Mojo since then.

Definitely a great knife! I am starting to reconsider putting the three donor knives back together.

The G10 texture is great, it allows for a good grip without being too aggressive. Since the framelock side is smooth it doesn't cause any of the additional wear the clip pressing fabric against the G10 might cause (easier to pull out of a pocket too).

Nice blade Jeremy! Took me a bit to realize that it was swapped from the new PE Random Leek. Surprised you didn't use the Kershaw handle instead of the CK&T. When will you swap it into the boron handle?

Hope you don't mind me posting my Leek, it's not random, but is franken.

Two Leeks in total here, soon to be three, going to be swapping the SS framelock for a Ti.
