Random Hinderer Thoughts........

So I have spent the afternoon helping my daughter finish off her first school project.......an exhaustive treatise on "Pioneer Tinware Decorating".......a thesis that shall surely have great impact on the hearts and minds of the rest of her Grade Three class and potentially change lives......or at least help a few of them fall asleep.......

As you might imagine, I have had more than a few moments to wonder about other things and one of them happened to concern Hinderers.......

About 6 months ago I bought an Investigator pen.....it looked AWESOME in the pics but when it arrived I thought it was comically small.......so I immediately ordered the Extreme Duty pen......it arrived a week or so later and I thought it was great........

However, what I have discovered over the last 6 months is that I have fallen in love with the Investigator......I have come a full 180 degrees.......it is not small......it's the perfect size to carry.....and I do actually carry it everywhere......and have done for about 4 months.......

I enjoy the sound the threads make as you unscrew and then rescrew the cap.......and the tactile feel of the pen as you hold it is really quite pleasant. And last but not least......it writes great.......which is actually pretty important.......you know.......for a pen.......

I have found that it has been an fantastic addition to the Herd........on many different levels.......and something I enjoy every day.......
It really is AWESOME......so awesome that I am considering picking up another.......

Anyway......that was one of many random thoughts floating around as I tried to pretend I was interested in Pioneer Tinware Decorating.......

Yup. I'd say "told ya so" but unless you'd ever read one of my old posts professing my love for my perfect size EDC pen.....told ya so would be incorrect.
I have several and have given many as gifts. I Love the RHK Investigator pen.
I too thought it was tiny when I got it and promptly got an EXtreme Duty which rides Go Bag Front.

Anyone else notice you kinda want to type out Extreme Duty rather than say one has E.D.?:D

Investigators carry so well it's easy to forget they are there until you reach for it. And, yes...the cap is needed to be screwed onto the back-end to make these little pens comfortable to write more than a quick note.

i love my investigator pen... sorry rubi- but i completely copied the blue ti full of black orings look you have :)

I just went looking for a copper investigator..........no luck.........apparently I am not the only one who finds them cool........

Should've kept my trap shut until after I found one........:D

Now I have to go decide on a different color.........crap........that could take me days...........

My first Hinderer pen was the Extreme Duty in Copper and I was a bit surprised at how heavy it was...and long. I used it awhile, then got a FDE Investigator as part of a package deal from a Hinderer dealer. It looked like a kiddie pen at first. As others have said, it grew on me, until it was the only one I carried. Then, I recently got a "backup" Investigator in copper. It is a miniature version of the copper Extreme and I have to say, it is perfect. Never thought I'd have a thing for pens, but like Falcon said, the darn things just write so well.

Rubi.....that's a great pic......there are a couple there I really like......and found available this evening......just haven't figured out which one to go for yet.......

How come the blue and the black Investigators are the only ones with the o-rings.....???

Are those two the ones you carry most often....???

Phase I went thru. I carried the blue and black for a long time. I carry the camo most now. I plan to rotate the ano ti soon...
I wanted to post a pic of some of them, I am serious when I say I like and use something.... Pic or it didn't happen proof (-:

Sooooooooo, without a pic or two you're not going to believe I scaled Mt Everest.....and BBQ'd a steak......at the summit.......on a Hibachi......before I left Earth for a 6-month tour on the International Space Station........????

Good news on the hunt for a copper Investigator.......I may have found one........will post pic later......;)

I had a copper investigator a while back and i loved it. I kind of wish I didnt part ways with it...

I have the brass extreme duty pen and I love that beast.im a chef and its in my arm pen pocket everyday.i bought the titanium clip and tip and flamed anodized them.looks great with weathered brass.there is only one thing that can be improved imop.with the attachments on like the armour piercing tip you cant screw the cap over it if you want to wright.not to bad but its very easy to lose the cap then.no big deal just a wish.

Yep, losing the threads is a trade-off. Hammer once suggested to me that I just clip the cap under the clip. But more often than not, i just set it aside. Some nice clickys have come to market recently, hope the Ranch looks into a clicky in the sweet spot of larger than Investigator but smaller than the Ext. Duty.

So I found the one Copper Investigator in the US that seems to be available.......on Saturday......and after 3 days of emailing the dealer asking about international shipping and waiting for a response......I just gave up.......I got a buddy in your great nation to pick it up for me and he'll ship it across the border.....

So in the word of one of your famous actors.......

Or at the very least......the extremely determined and soon-to-be owner of a really great pen.......:D
