Random Hinderer Thoughts........

So as I was hunting for the investigator, I noticed something of which I was previously unaware........some investigators are offered in both aluminium and stainless steel........what is the difference....???......is it basically just the weight of the pen......???

Aluminum, Stainless, Brass, Copper, Titanium, DLC coated..... variety of finishes. The various metals will weigh, age and patina differently.
Matter of personal preference, nice to have choices.
Price points vary as well.

I have a tendency towards the lighter for daily use but, that varies too. That's why you have to have several :)

Todays Subjects :)

Kyle....why yes they are......Rick thought of everything......:D

They take Fisher space pen refills that are pretty easy to find.........

I will Add, They come with "Bold" I mistakenly bought medium.
As usual, RHK had it right - Bold is the better pick IMO.

Now you guys got me thinking anout buying one of these. Maybe a stainless one. Investigator or the extreme duty. Need a good durable pen for work.

Kyle.....they are both great pens......and I mentioned before, I thought the Investigator was too small initially......and the Extreme was perfect.......but I have reversed my opinion on both......if it's a pen you're gonna carry......the Investigator is PERFECT and the Extreme is actually a little on the large size......it stays on my desk......but the Investigator gets carried and used ALL the time.......awesome weight.......awesome size.......awesome pen!!!

If you decide to get one......I think you will really enjoy it.......

Yea i would like a black stainless investigator but cant seem to find one in stock. Guess the waiting game begins.

Stainless will be just that. Colors are ano or DLC.

Talking to Mike, he tells me there are PVD coated (Black) stainless if indeed weight is the goal. My two(2) black are light.

Yep, the black and FDE were/are both aluminum and stainless. I ordered one listed as "stainless" FDE from an authorized dealer but immediately realized upon its arrival it was aluminum. But about that same time got a stainless FDE one from the Ranch. The weight difference is immediately noticeable.

Another random question popped into my head this morning.......and I am not sure if anyone has asked it yet......the blade steel on the Hot Diggity Dagger.......is it S35VN.......or did Rick choose to work with something else on that project......???
Not that it matters.......just curious........

I will have to pick an investigator pen up! I sign construction documents daily and thought a cool RHK pen would be perfect. I picked up an Extreme duty pen and after signing and initially a few 100 page docs I had to throw in the towel! Lol. It's a beast!
