So I was picking up my bench a little bit today and found a very small piece of some .062" 15n20 and as I was about to throw it in the steel bucket, I decided to use it for this!!!

Have you read the stickies at the top of the page? It's so small but without a good finish on the blade and a very fat handle.

That's pretty neat. I would definitely flat spot some fingers if I tried one that small. Heck, I flat spot fingers on 4 inch blades!

Miniatures are a challenge of another sort, as I'm sure you have learned. To be really good, they need to have proportional parts (i.e. it should look like a good completed larger knife, with the same handle-to-blade proportions, and the same proportions for primary and secondary bevels). The blade should also be finished to a higher grit than you might use on a larger blade so the visible grind lines (if any) are also proportionally correct (i.e. smaller than those on larger blades).

I never got good enough to achieve those goals.

Minis are lots of fun, and I don't think anyone wants to discourage you. I think people are trying to say that a mini should be finished to the same level that a full size knife would be.

First, a link to the last mini KITH held here. It was lots of fun.

Second, here's a good way to judge proportions on minis. If it doesn't look right in hand, it doesn't look right.
