Random Photo Thread!

Liam, thanx, the reflection was really giving the autofocus fits, I ended up going into manual to get it how I wanted. I will play around with cropping to see what comes of it. Thanx for the suggestion!

Thanx Daniel! I'm gonna try the puddle reflection again sometime, maybe set one up for a better image. I'm going to play around with different crop formats as well, like Liam suggested.

Ha! Good pic of Pete and the business end of M. I too just got a couple good pics of Pete and M, but theyre on film, so I'll have to scan or set up a duplicating rig for prints. Maybe tomorrow.

I was like "Damn this dude is popular." then realized you two were from the same spot, haha.

Here are some poor duplications of a couple pics I took of Pete and M. They are very contrasty, look great on Fuji Color Archive paper though!

Mr. DFK's handiwork

(clarification, the HT, not the blade itself. Way ugly to be his stuff!)

I just clocked out for the night. Went over most of that one with 180, 240, then hand sanded some 240, 400. My hands hurt hah. There's some spots on the bevel that look deep. I may have to go back at it on the grinder or something. Hand sanding's not removing it!

Cool! The grind was nice and thin, it should be a performer.

Maybe try a 120 ceramic belt if you have it, they are awesome for post heat treat clean up grinding.

No 120's in ceramic, but I have 100's? I think I mixed lower grit Blaze with mid/high Trizact. I have cloth ones too.

Prayin' I got this glue up thing right cause if not; sadness.

(I bought a glass platen for my Grizzly. The glue shattered the glass as it dried and expanded D:

Dude... that is killer! :D Nice work! great looking finish

I read up on the platens after you told me yours did that... supposedly a non-flat platen can cause this as the stress from glue-up will break the glass as the epoxy cures. Sand the platen on a surface plate and you shoule be good to go... apparently about half of them do that unless flattened first.
