Random Photo Thread!

This was the frost on my car this morning. The whole car was covered in crazy patterns but the silver paint made it hard to get any other good pics, and I was running late for work so I had to haul ass to clean it off AND take pictures.

^DUDE! That is some crazy Druid shi................^

Dude I was stunned, it was crazy. I was still half asleep walking out to my car and I got to the door and my jaw just dropped.

One of my buddies who lives about 20 mins away had something similar happen to his truck and it was all across the windshield. His looked like huge leaves!

Living in cold weather climates all my life I've seen a lot of frost, but never anything like this. The way it looks three dimensional is just unbelievable.

Took some shots today of most the dogs and cats that are up for adoption through the local SPCA, which are hosted by my store every weekend. These are just a sample of the images. I am donating all the files and time to them so they can work on a website to get some more exposure and more pets into homes. Shooting these guys in the dim, flourescent lit warehouse required me to shoot at 1000iso, f/1.8-2.2 to keep shutter speeds fast enough (~1/50) to catch them and hand hold the shots. Nikon D200, Nikkor 50 f/1.8 AF-D. Shot mostly in manual or aperture mode.

Enjoy!

Didn't bother to cleanup. This is about how it is all the time while I'm working. Not pictured; then whole other side. Plenty of space. I love this tall table!

Petty 3rd in today's shoot O_o

I love tweaking photos and doing simple graphic design.. this obviously VERY simple and took but a min, but I think due to the layout of object matter and textures photographed, this emboss really works for me.. very zen and sh!t like.. dude. ;]

That's pretty cool. Is that shredded cabbage or someone being scalped?

For some more fun, you can put a drop of water on a camera phone lens, vaseline lightly smeared around the outer part of a larger lens will give a soft effect and of course a sharp central image, there are also some cool tilt/shift emulators out there too.

Hmmm, was using a Panasonic DMC-LX3 for the closeups... I could do the lens smear trick, but I don't eff with cameras like that O_o Also, funny, I was just looking at some tilt/shift work...

And yes cabbage.. but you probably cheated and saw my other post :D

I've also decided to get back into photography with a nice digital SLR... mostly for wildlife. Couple plans.. but I hope to chronicle some creatures. We'll see. Time is.. limited still.. and one of the creatures won't be around in a year or two when I have more freedoms like that to sit around for 2hours and look at stuff quietly.. Dunno what that is like anymore *_*

Lol, you have kids, that's a form of "wildlife" photography! Buy nice glass, get a slightly older body to save some dough. I'm more and more impressed with what my 10mp D200 can do with quality glass than a 20mp with cheap glass. Oh, and the vaseline trick, get an old cheap filter to do it with, not the actual lens!

If you have any questions abot where to buy or where to get good deals let me know, I surf all the hot spots pretty often.
