Recently I've entered a few giveaways, and chatted with a few people here on the forum and have really enjoyed it. That being said I would like to do a giveaway. HOWEVER....I've never done one and would like to do a test run first (plus I've had this thing for a few years now and never used it) so depending on how this goes we may have a better giveaway coming up.

This won't be a complicated giveaway your post number is your entry and there's only 2 rules. FIRST you must have been a member since no later than January 31st 2015. SECOND you must post something good about this forum. I'm not asking for a huge lifelong story. Just a quick short comment either about something you learned here, a knife you acquired, something you did for someone, something someone did for you, ETC... Pics of knifes and gadgets are welcome and encouraged in your post....this contest WILL BE OPEN FOR ONE WEEK. this closes at midnight on the 29th. A winner will be picked via random number generator and announced the 30th at 6am.

The prize is a CERT non-ferrous utility wrench with a super manly stealth tactical pink camo lanyard.

Woohoo. First post.

I always carried a pocket knife. From the time I was around 10 years old. I wanted one because my dad had one, he used it for everything and like other kids, I wanted to be my dad. About a year ago I found BF and now I check the forums everyday. This is a great place to hang out and learn.

Thank you for the GAW.
I thought I knew a little about knives when I first came to Bladeforums and... I did. I learned so much here and met some really fine folk.

I've learned so much here, but beyond that the people are amazing. My first post was about buying a new knife for camping and I got so many good suggestions that I went out and ordered a JK Handmade knife. How friendly everyone was while helping me led me to buy a hold membership to support the forum.

What really gets me though: when I thought my spyderco had been stolen, a member offered to give me a few spyderco to cheer me up. I refused because it was my own fault, but just the fact that he was willing to help me out without knowing me, just a huge gesture to me. I'm someone who has devoted my life to helping others (army medic, now president of a chapter of a non profit organization, and I do a lot of homeless work). It's rare, even with that, that you find someone so willing to help others. And it feels like there are a ton of people here willing to help complete strangers just because. It's the most amazing thing to me.

Thanks for the opportunity!

Sweet! Sounds like fun!

I got into knives somewhat more recently, as no one in my family is, so this has given me a place to learn, ask questions, and have a connection with others who have a similar love. Also, being in college, having the exchange has allowed me to buy/sell so I get to try out more awesome knives, and limit what I send, buying used instead of new.

Thus is an awesome place, thanks to everyone!

Nice contest. I have been able to improve my sharpening techniques with advice from this forum. It is appreciated very much!

I've found a lot of great people here! Help with sharping, and buying new blades. Didn't know how many super steels were out there, but now I do.

The people and the knowledge is awesome!!! Like having a giant group of experts with answers to any question just minutes away!

I started here just browsing around and decided I needed a survival type knife. Read many comments and reviews on ESEE, BOKER, Swamp Rat, etc...

I ended up getting a Ratmandu from Swamp Rat and then proceeded to get sucked up into the Busse family :)

I have contributed to the how to strip a Ratmandu type threads

Thanks:

Hey cool, count me in.
Pictured here is an early 1800's English Joseph Allen and Son's NON-XLL knife.

Count me in!

I always had a fascination with knives ever since my uncle Danny gave me my first one over 27 years ago.
I stumbled upon Bladeforums while looking for a particular knife and I kept seeing "Bladeforums.com exchange " pop up in my search results. Well, needless to say, I clicked on one of the links and the rest is history. I've learned a lot and met many kind and intelligent folks on here and I wouldn't trade any of it for anything. Thanks for the great giveaway.

I'm in, thanks!

I joined looking for a neck knife, got an Izula, then wanted a decent folder, got a Leek, then it was a BK14 to go with my BK9, and my latest purchase was a ZT 0560. Thanks to everyone who helped me out.

If I win, I'm going to give the wrench to my dad. :)

Im in. I really just like the kindness and knowledge of the people on this forum. I can always find the info i need and have seen the friendliness of most of the users. Thanks for the chance!

So many people are always willing to help out here. I can't tell you how many times I have seen people in need and the community here joins together and helps out. Great forum.

That would be a great add to the rest of my CERT gear. Thank you for the GAW.

Although I do bang heads with other members sometimes, BF has been great. Always makes me think outside the box. I need that.

One of the best things, for me, has been that I can look a my collection in a different light. Now, I am much more critical when I make a purchase so I end up with less knives collecting dust and better knives that I will use.

Thanks, everyone.

Awesome giveaway!

I joined BF a little while back when I started to really get into knives and found it to be a wealth of information and full of fantastic people who seemed eager to help with any question I posed to them. Then last semester when I had some issues and had to sell off almost all of my knives to help fund the gap in medical bills and college costs The exchange became a saving grace. I dealt with so many members in selling my collection off to raise the funds I needed and every single transaction was fantastic. Had zero issues. BF has been really good to me and I intend to hang around for a long long time.

I am in, Thanks
Lots of good people and info here.
Its small enough to get to know people if you try and large enough to have something for everyone.
