In other news, the ebay K18 is only at $3,640.00 with 2.5h to go .....
Yes, Kenya. We are here for 9 days seeing the sights. Several parks and conservancies.
where did you get that?

very nice work. titanium sucks to machine.
My work. Test piece for a thing I'm the project manager for. We wanted to make sure we could make the part. We can.

No worries on that, I’ve kind of wondered with electric there must be an app that shows you where the next charging station is located.😕 Right now here in Spokane, Avista has charging stations planned but no true network established.
I asked a Tesla owner about that wrt driving long distance. The Tesla's nav will show all the charging stations, as well as noting whether they're regular or superchargers (faster).

My son has a Y model, small SUV, and loves to drive it, as long as it doesn't see some imaginary object and slam on the brake unannounced. But after about 2 months he's leaning toward getting rid of it for that very reason, charging. He had a 240v installed in his garage and if real low it will still take 8 hours to charge to 80%. He does too much backpacking and camping for that crap. On the plus side, they went for a overnighter and slept in the back, put it in camping Mode, yes it has one, and set it for 68 degrees and slept real comfy. Also, musk has had fart noises installed so he has it fun with that....external speaker comes with it. He truly does love to drive it , has the performance version. but he's still gonna get rid of it. Funny thing he can sell it for at least what he paid for it no problem...

I see people sitting for hours or pacing around like zombies while their cars charge at the Tesla stations at my place of work. Road trips in an electric vehicle look like a terrible waste of time.
As they are right now, they aren't ideal for road trips (unless you travel with people who need a xxx break every hour).

I don't know how large the total power cells are for current EVs, but one idea I'd wondered about is hot swappable power cells. Make them modular. You pull into a 'station' and an automated machine pulls your drained power cell and hot swaps a charged one in. Then the drained power cell can be placed on the charger bank (depending on the charging speed, X cells in the system at Y charging speed will ensure that at Z turnover rate per vehicle, there will be a constant supply of charged power cells barring power outages).

Way faster, AND as battery tech improves, you can offer on the spot upgrades: "Your current power cell has a range of 320 miles. For $XXXX you can upgrade to the newest +++ Power Cell and increase your range to 450 miles."

That’s great if you own a Tesla, but the market is going all electric soon Are the other companies going to set up their own systems?

Electric cars will only work long distance when batteries are standardized, and if you can swap out an empty vs. full battery set at a "gas station". "Fast charging" will never be fast enough. No chances for battery standards any time soon, unless Tesla provides all the batteries - which could be, given Musk's strategy. Then again, he's not very popular in Washington today :)
