Random Thought Thread

We blew a transformer here this week which created a few issues that has set us back a little. We're canceling today's sale so we can get caught back up. We will have a regularly scheduled Friday sale next week

Random thought:
1) "Man, I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the internet!!!"

2) it's funny when you procrastinate on doing something, and when you finally get around to it, it's, "Meh... that was easy. Shoulda done that waaaayyy sooner".

TV (Samsung Plasma) had been acting up for a couple years (😂), not turning on normally. Googled it and quickly found answers.

- here's a workaround to get it to turn on
- here's what's causing the problem and how to fix it (3 failing capacitors that need to be replaced).

Bought the capacitors some time last year (maybe the year before 😂), but just kept using the workaround.

Well, 3 weeks ago, the workaround stopped working, so today I finally took the TV apart. 32 screws, 3 capacitors and a little quick soldering. Fixed. Maybe 45 minutes, taking my sweet time. Wasted more than that using the workaround for 2 years 🙄

I did the same thing with my Jetta B bluemax_1
Bought a hacked VAGCOM connector to, literally, change an "0" to a "1". Even took it to a stealership to have them do it, which they refused, but offered to change out the part for $1200.

I did a battery break to clear some codes, which affected the software in the headunit. It was a weird system where pressing the "CD" button turned on the Aux input function. The battery break removed that function. I just used CD's for years, even after buying the VAGCOM. Finally decided to deal with it. Of course, the hack required specific software for it to work. That took 2 days and multiple Russian malware downloads later, finally got the right program. Literally changed an "0" (off) to "1" (on). Can't believe I waited that long to do it.

I wouldn't want to be single but....the wife, live in granddaughter, number 1 daughter(shes not fucked in the head providing me with a live in granddaughter that's number 2 daughter) her husband and their child are on vacation in Port Aransas and I'm home alone with the hounds for 2 weeks. It's actually very nice. Quite. Been 5 days and i miss them but again it's quite.

2) it's funny when you procrastinate on doing something, and when you finally get around to it, it's, "Meh... that was easy. Shoulda done that waaaayyy sooner".

When I procrastinate on a project it's usually based on prior knowledge (or a suspicion) that it will be a real PITA to accomplish.

That's why I procrastinated planting some new rose bushes where I had my gardener remove some overgrown bushes along the front walkway at my house. It took me 3 days in 90+ degree weather to do the work -- digging the holes and putting organic solid below around it -- which you'd think would be an easy job but it wasn't. Should have paid my gardner to do instead but didn't trust his crew to do it "right" because they just want to do it fast.

And that's why I'm procrastinating on installing a new garbage disposal which I've done in the past myself but you never know if the waste line is going to line up exactly with the existing plumbing and if some modification will be required.

Bought a new GD because the exisiting one kept requiring a reset (Googled the reasons for that) but now it's working again and there's no need to replace it just yet. So, it's still sitting in the box (which I haven't even opened yet) and will remain so until the GD actually dies.

Then I'll decide if I'll still do it myself or just call a plumbing to install it for me instead. ;)

O.M.G!

I just found a deli/ beer store that is magical near me, sandwiches were fantastic!

I had a break down on what beers to get like a little kid in a candy store ! (Wife had to calm me down lol)

On top of all the cans and bottles... they have 18 taps going with mead and different beers

Amazing!!

I attained the mythical full body boner while there

Hahahaha

I always enjoy it when I recognize blades in a show that I’m watching. I was watching Chris Pratt in “The Terminal List”, on TV last night, and recognized a couple of Daniel Winkler Sayoc tomahawks on the character’s garage wall.
All the Winkler groups on Facebook have been frothing over the series for months (and predicting RnDs are going to double in price this year because of it).
