Random Thought Thread

Was going to drive to the California State Fair this morning when I realized that it was going to cost me about $68 up front -- just for parking, admission and gas to drive there and back -- PLUS the cost of food/beer, useless junk and horse racing bets while there. Not to mention the 3 hr RT drive time & 90° heat.

Sure to be over $100 in total. WTF!?!?!?! I use to like going to the State Fair @ year. Now, not so much. Needless to say, I decided against it.

Instead, I'm going to take a short drive in my little red sports car w/the top down (of course) to one of my favorite lunch spots and then return home where I'm still struggling to clean the house.

LOL! ;)

Well, here's my little red sports car (don't think I've posted a pic of it here before). It's a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder. Have owned it for 17 yrs. Only 58k miles on it. That works out to 2.9k miles/year. I only drive it about 2.5k miles/yr. The rest came w/the car when I bought it. It's just a toy.

Bought/sold a 2000 Porsche 911 and a 2014 Z51 Corvette -- both bucket list cars -- in the past 4 years but I still have the MR2 which is way cheaper and way more fun to drive than the other 2 were. Not going to bother trying to buy another sports car but am thinking about buying another motorcycle.

The ride to my watering spot down a narrow 2 lane back road starting close to my house was PERFECT because there were no slow a$$ drivers blocking my way and I could cruise at my desired speed (20-30 mph over the posted limits) for the entire 15 mile route. It doesn't get any better than that! :)

Had a Reuben, some fruit and a pint of Maui Waui before heading home via the freeway. Will post a pic of that in the "what'cha eating" thread.

Stopped briefly at a soul food joint w/the idea of buying some oxtails (that they only serve on Sun), greens & yams to reheat for dinner but they didn't open til 1pm. I was 30 mins early and I didn't want to wait. Maybe next Sun.

Now, I gotta get back to house cleaning (dusting/glass cleaning/vacuuming). :(

Doing 1 room per day starting today. As they say, when you have a big project, divide it into smaller parts to make it more manageable. Should be done by the end of next week. Finished cleaning the 4 toilets/bathrooms over the past 2 days.

And then I still have to buy a new carpet cleaner to clean the section of carpet that I tried to clean last week before learning that my old (only once used) carpet cleaner was for sh*t. Figured I'd put that off till everything else was done.

Good thing that I only try to clean the house once a year. It's not as bad as it sounds. I live alone and I'm very "neat." LOL! ;)

With all the hot sauce talk recently thought this was good to post here. These all came yesterday. They taste awesome. I have really been enjoying the YouTube show Hot Ones and decided they were worth supporting. My son loves the kids green sauce and is working his way up to the yellow.
