I have a set from Murray Carter which my wife won't use. (These were made for me while he was still living and working in Japan.) She prefers to use her Bokers, Victorinox and Tramontinas. Oh well.

Wowwww! Nice. I have only one Murray Carter, a Muteki neck knife that is so fine and the sharpest knife in the shed, but pretty small. I worry I might damage the San Mai blade and rarely use it, but it fits very nicely in my front pants pocket in the kydex sheath. The sheath keep leaving marks on the outer layer of the blade, but I'm told it's too sharp to have a leather sheath made for it. I've had to clean it up with a scotchbrite pad.

My Toyota pickup overheated and blew the engine on the way to a Tom Petty concert. I never got to see him again. 😔
My buddy had a kidney stone attack while motorcycling down to Joe Cocker's farm in CO for a concert. Found a doctor in Paonia, CO...who as coincidence would have it, was from the same town in Indiana as my buddy who had the attack, got him treated, but missed the concert and turned our motorcycles back around to head back to where we were staying up in Beaver Creek.

That was the same day I missed going to see Doc Holliday's grave in Glenwood Springs.

Fun day. (Not so much.)

Never got to see Joe Cocker.

Doc, I was the one who convinced Murray to build neck knives. He was against it until he finally tried it and loved them. So, in a roundabout way, you have me to thank.

I have one Muteki, basic one...and one fancy one, hand forged with mastodon ivory which he was presenting for evaluation when he got his master smith stamp. I was at the Blade Show when he was awarded the M.S. and that's when I took home the fancy piece.

Don't have time to find images of them at the moment as I'm awaiting the generator crew.

22RE engine?

I had one do that to me.
They were known for blowing head gaskets. One of the few big Toyota blunders.

Beautiful part of the state! I'll be very near there in a month, floating the Gunnison River below Black Canyon for 3 days of fishing the "Mother's Day" Salmon fly hatch. Fishing should be EPIC! 😎 The take-out at Pleasure Park is only about 15 miles from Paonia as the crow flies.

No it was that even bigger pile of crap V6 3VZE. We were 18 and had lots of beer with us at least.
Whaaaaattt? Those are essentially bulletproof motors! Shitty gas milage, yes, and they leak a bit of oil out the half-moons on the firewall side of the valve covers eventually, but they'll go 500,000 miles easily if you take care of them. MANY have gone over a MILLION miles!!! 😲 Shoot, sorry, nevermind. I'm thinking of the 5VZ 3.4l... D'oh!😖

Man, I envy some of the things you’ve seen and done (but others I’m thankful for not seeing 😹). Thank you for the inspiration for the one small EDC fixed blade I would never sell, besides a couple of my David Mary small EDC knives - a Wharntastic and an Otter Scout.

We’ll be spending 6 days at the campground at Ridgeway State Park by Ouray for 4th of July, and visiting Silverton and Durango some of those days.

Million Dollar Highway! 😎 It cuts through the most rugged mountains in our state (IMO). Love backpacking in that area, the Weminuche Wilderness is my favorite! 👍

I'll be up at Flaming Gorge, floating the Green River below for the 4th. Haven't been up there in 5 years.

good lord 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I saw James Brown preform live in Atlanta at a music festival immediately following his release from one of his incarcerations. He came out in his three piece suit and said “I’ve been through some hard times, been locked up, but I’m out now, and I feel good.” Then he followed it with an extremely enthusiastic and energetic performance of “I Feel Good”. He had definitely made some poor decisions in his days, but he was definitely an entertaining act to see.
