My Toyota pickup overheated and blew the engine on the way to a Tom Petty concert. I never got to see him again. 😔
First time I saw him was one of the greatest days of my life. 20 years ago, just turned 21. Did lots of dumb shit. On the way down, Got pulled over for speeding. Cop noticed an empty beer can in my truck. Asked if I had been drinking, told him one. Had me step out and take a breathalyzer. I passed but just barely he tells me. Asks if he can search the car. Without thinking I say yes,,I nearly instantly almost took it back but bit my tongue. He tells me to get back into the car and he walks to the passenger side to ask my buddy if hes had anything to drink. My buddy lies and says no. The cop says ok be right back. Waiting, not sure whats gonna happen but assuming the worse, I tell my friend I gave consent to search. He then tells me if they open his passenger door his beer is gonna fall on the ground. We are pooping because there is much more to be concerned about if they search the car. Well that angel comes back with a speeding ticket and says have a good night. Relief is putting it lightly. Will never forget arriving to the venue and parking. Boy did we party like it was our last night on Earth. Taboot it was probably one of the greatest shows Ive ever seen. Throughout the years Tom and his band would often mention the exact show during interviews and such (Noblesville when the electricity went out). Though Im mostly a metal head Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was the absolute best live experience in my opinion. One big happy sing along man.

Hahaha

Anyone wants to talk about cheating, we just had a helicopter drop 6 hvacs on top of our new warehouse because a crane couldn’t reach.
What’s cheating is having ownership that will spend the money on new units!!! I have 11 20ton Tranes on my roof that have been there since 1994!

They think new is too expensive but I spent 60k in repairs each year for the last 4 years!! I’d sell my soul for a crane in my lot that that was picking units and not compressors or heat exchangers….

I feel you there. We have buildings that are on the historic registry and therefore cannot even replace windows. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Mortar falling out. Walls are more paint than anything else.

It's hard to start a Trane

It's horrifying! How do you like the way those women's jaws unhinge like a snake, and people have 15-20 fingers and can play in fire without burning? I used to think that something like an AI was responsible for the ending of 2001 A Space Odyssey movie, but that doesn't hold a candle to this 😂
It's V!!!

Dear God layers of paint !!!!!!

It can be.... till you think to yourself "okay I'm over this" lol

Shop I worked at when younger did a lot of custom cars and hot rods , I did a lot of media blasting and learned you can warp panels really quick if you don't move, and usually ended up finding big messes you have to fix

Panels are so thin on new vehicles you would probably blow a hole through them

Bit of a PSA, I guess.

Many years ago, I used to put stickers on my vehicle to share my enthusiasm for certain firearm manufacturers. No trouble came of it - I even got pulled over once and those stickers prompted a most excellent conversation with the officers.

At some point though, something clicked in my head and I removed all stickers and stopped wearing certain types of clothing. Something was telling me to not make myself a target. I appreciate the premonition these days more than ever. Gun theft from vehicles is skyrocketing and it's not like us gun owners make it too difficult to find out which vehicles to hit .

Agreed. I'm also not a fan of signs in yards that say things like "This home is protected by Smith & Wesson."

Why tip off your would be assailants that they need to come prepared?

I also think a good sized dog (or one that sounds big) is about as much preventative insurance as you can get. Of course, most dogs are only good as an alarm if someone breaks in while you're gone, unless they have guard training.

In that same vein, during the first wave of BLM protests in 2015-2016, one of my neighbors decided to put a big Thin Blue Line flag on his pickup.

I advised that regardless of his particular beliefs and wanting to show support for LE, that putting that on his vehicle potentially made it a target for scumbags (cowards) with opposing views who have no qualms about vandalizing a vehicle when the owner isn't around.

Yeah, I think as a good rule of thumb, it's best not to advertise such things. Especially these days

I think I read an article awhile back where someone interviewed a bunch of ex-cons (burglars and the like) and the #1 deterrent was dogs. They simply would just move on, usually wasn't worth the trouble to tangle with them.

I think I'm covered on the dog front - I've got 5 and I am pretty sure that is 3, maybe even 4 too many. Wouldn't recommend. Love them to pieces though.

Our dog is very sweet with everyone in the family, but she goes into sicko mode if anyone comes in the yard. She repeatedly jumps about 5' in the air against the front door while growling and barking. I haven't had to talk to any sales people in quite a while. I imagine that crooks would skip over to the next house.

My dog also goes into nutjob 🌰 🐕 mode when strangers approach.

The problem is that she can sense them at the bottom of the driveway in the street and sidewalk. We need to train her to wait until they get closer, so we don’t know about every single @$#%¥]{^! delivery truck and dog in the neighborhood goes by.
