Had another kid’s birthday party today. Stopped at Coastal Farm before and it was Farm and Ranch days sale. Had there DEF on sale for $9.99 and I had $10 off in rewards so got 5 gallons for $9.99. View attachment 2317277
Is that a good price Josh? I don’t know, my diesels don’t use it. That stuff is like douche for engines. Your truck has a vagina.

Yeah it’s a pretty good deal. It’s typically about $4 a gallon at the pump, or 15.99-21.99 for 2.5 gallons. Unfortunately this is the way the worlds going, but I can say my truck still drinks cat piss 🤣

They had to stop all fire fighting efforts today by Casinostocks Casinostocks camp on the Smith River Complex because the fuel tenders got the diesel and gas mixed up and filled between 40 and 80 vehicles with the wrong type of fuel. Sounded like a mess.
When I was a wildland firefighter we had a couple f450s, one was diesel and the other the 6.8L gas V10 and one of my coworkers managed to put gas in the diesel. Fortunately she realized halfway through filling it up so didn’t start it, had it towed to the garage and they were able to drain the tank without it being a big deal.

It’s ridiculous ARP headstuds are $1500. 🤣

And that is why I always fill up my truck at half a tank. In case the wife decides she needs my truck instead of her truck for some unforeseen reason. I really don’t want gasoline in my diesel tank. 🤣

Thank you for posting this as I was not keeping up with today's events there. Ever since the Smith River Complex fires started a few weeks ago, this threw a monkey wrench into my plans to go visit the campsite in late Aug / early Sept. I have 3 parcels with 3 dwellings and a trailer there of which at best 2 dwellings are salvageable, one semi serviceable. The plan was to start improvements while I take the newer trailer up there after removing the other which the ol' boy, a tenant / caretaker, "living" there left his mess for me to clean up after his stroke several months ago. The person who I bought from lives on the adjacent lots and owns a few of them, he's an awesom very respectable stand up person who used to work for Cal Fire many years ago. I talk with him quite frequently as he watches over things for me and my brother who also owns a handful of lots up there. The Cal Fire crew up there has been extra vigilant because they tend to look after one of their own a bit more extra :)

Good to hear that you have someone looking out for it. Those guys are good guys to have as neighbors.

Back on the generator again since 9 a.m.

This is at least the 8th outage since going online on 6/1. None have been longer than four hours so far...some were scheduled, most were falling trees somewhere down the line that took out equipment.

They "say" they expect it back by 2 p.m.

Sure is nice to have this propane guzzler.

Short one...it just came back on after just under 1.5 hours. They've been doing a lot of power pole and transformer upgrades in the county, so maybe that was scheduled...but we were not informed until after the power went off.

Every week, a cricket will come into a random part of my house and make noise incessantly. It's embarassing how much time I've spent hunting them down with a Bug-A-Salt.
Yea, they drive me nuts. I spent about an hour searching for this little monster. I knew it was in the copier but couldn't spot him, too many nooks and crannies. Luckily the leaf blower worked or I was going to be laying the machine down and taking it apart
