It's the shadow cast from the moon. A straight line between the sun and the moon (which happens constantly) that happens to fall on the earth due to the approximate alignment of the three spheres, orbiting each other in space. Perfectly described by Newtonian physics and capable of making accurate predictions. We've known for many years exactly when and where this would be visible. What other model can make an accurate prediction like that?

well. based on the description that you just gave it SHOULD be more east west in alignment than it is because you know, the sun and moon are on the same ''rise in the east set in the west'' path.

just explaining my question I'm ready to drop it
