I've decided that no matter what USPS tracking info says, the subtext is always:

"Possibly in motion and making its way in your direction, but maybe not - it could be going in the complete opposite direction, or it could have fallen behind a file cabinet in which case it isn't going anywhere. It could arrive on the delivery date we said, but maybe not. And if it doesn't arrive, just continue to keep your fingers crossed and maybe sacrifice a goat or something."

I might be missing something. Not just anyone can sign up for a marathon? and then you have to pay on top of that? Or is it just the travel expenses involved?

Btw, the Vehements you just picked up are sweet looking, that design looked really good. I was sorely tempted but I am on a knife-buying fast currently. Something for me to look forward to in the future though, should they make more.

There will be more in January, about 100-200 were held back for a second drop.

Chicago is one of the six World Major marathons with Boston, New York City, Tokyo, London, and Berlin. Those are big races with 50,000+ runners and draw world record holders, pros, and Olympics contenders. If you're not fast enough to qualify by time, they limit entrants to charity fundraiser runners and then the rest of the entrants are determined by lottery, because every year usually 2-4 people want to run the race for every available slot they have.
