Pro Emergency Sharpening Tip!

So, we were home over Thanksgiving, staying in a hotel. Had a SS Case Trapper with me and it got used quite a bit prepping charcuterie, veg trays and such. Next morning back at the room I wanted to touch up the edge but didn't have anything with me to do it. And of course, paper coffee cups. Happily, inspiration struck. Toilets are ceramic. Take the lid off and the top of the tank is a dandy long, sturdy more or less rod. And let me tell you, the trapper was tuned up in no time.

"I'll be right out, honey!"

"WTF is he doing in there?"

"What was that sound in the toilet?"

From what I've seen, the toilet tank lid is going to be worse than using a 36 grit stone; so I'd keep looking for a ceramic coffee cup somewhere, or just strop the knife on my belt or jeans and wait it out for a better ceramic or stone.
