While he had his moments, Lamar Jackson totally got stuffed by the Chief's defense -- 1 INT & 4 sacks. Every team in the league will be studying what the Chiefs did to contain Jackson and turn him into just a ordinary QB. Jackson's playoff record is now 3-4 over 5 seasons and he still hasn't gotten to the SB.

On the other hand, Purdy "managed" the Niners to 2 back-to-back "comeback" wins; evading the Lions' heavy rush/blitz pressure and RUSHING for 48 yards himself and his playoff record is 4-1 after playing only 22 games as a starting QB (with a record of 18-4) in less than 1.5 seasons and he's also going to the SB!!! 😎

Among other things, the knock on Purdy was that he couldn't lead the Niners to a win after falling behind, that he couldn't handle pocket pressure and that he couldn't run. We'll, it seems he's answered those criticisms quite well in the past 2 games.

Anyway, the re-match that I speculated "could" happen is going to happen. :)

The Niners will face the Chiefs in SB 58 in Vegas which will be a rematch of SB 54 which the Niners lost to the Chiefs 31-20. :(

The Niners will be going for their 6th SB win out of 8 appearances to tie the Steelers & Patriots for the most SB wins in SB history. A 6th SB win for the Niners will also match the Steelers for the best SB win % at 75% and will even the score for Shanahan with the Chiefs at 1-1 in the SB.

Up to this point, only Jackson, Purdy & McC have been in the MVP conversation. Mahomes has not been previously considered because he & the team did not play all that well during the regular season, but his & the Chiefs performance in the playoffs has certainly now changed that.

The MVP vote is biased towards QBs to begin with, so unless McC does something incredible to overshadow Purdy & Mahomes in the SB, my guess is that the MVP will now go to either Purdy or Mahomes depending on whether the Niners or Chiefs win.

It's going to be a GREAT game!!! :)

I just hope the Niners don't take 2-3 quarters off again before getting down to business.🤷‍♂️

I actually think Run CMC might pick it up. Jackson hasn't sealed the deal in the postseason and is underwhelming compared to the hype at the moment. Purdy had that one awful game where people were talking about him getting knocked out of MVP contention, and he's been good but not MVP great since then. Really the only thing going against McCaffrey is that everyone thinks of the MVP award as being biased in favor of quarterbacks. Which in fairness it is, because quarterbacks typically have the biggest and widest impact on the game for obvious reasons. But McCaffrey has been consistently amazing in a way that none of the QB candidates can quite say.

I hate the whole Taylor Swift thing...though I remember similar b.s. years ago with Derek Jeter and his girlfriends. Same for players on other teams and the Hollywood types they were seeing.

But, though I'm pretty much worn out from seeing Kelce's mug every time I flip a channel, the dude showed up big time...so I have to tip my hat to his play on the field.

Same thing for guys like CMC, Pacheco, and a few others whose performances make you stand up and take notice. Truly gifted athletes. Not just strong or fast...but talented.

There's a bunch of guys who are deserving, and I don't think I could find fault if any of 'em win. (I'd give it to Mahomes if he'd stop doing so many commercials. LOL.)

I don't think they forgot...I think it was a combination of a couple of risky play calls that didn't work out...and a couple of improbable plays...that ultimately sunk them.

I hope that when the pain of the loss passes they'll still be proud of what they accomplished. They were so close to getting it done.

I know Dan Campbell is super proud of them, they really accomplished amazing things this year. You know he's regretting that go-for-it call on that fourth down, but Dan wouldn't be Dan if he hadn't said SCREW IT WE'LL DO IT LIVE! His life motto is basically "FULL SPEED OR NOTHING."

I still wouldn't take a chance on eating them... I'm not going to end up like those bears I see on YouTube walking around with a 50 foot worm coming out of the back side of me ....you never know what they will do or where they will go shit you could end up with a worm eating your eyes and/or brain ! So yeah thanks but no thanks !

The new JKBoots showed up early. I wasn’t sure if it should go in the gear thread or the leather thread so it ended up here. Seems like I may need a boot knife now. I don’t know if I’ll carry a folder or a combo wrench or nothing in there but I decided to get it on there just in case.
