I was tempted to get a new gmc sierra.... then not sure if I'm a fan of the direct injection and finding out the recall on the roof skin cracking....

Funnily enough that was my first car ('72 model that is). My mom would have hit me, if I had quoted it ....

My first car as well, a 1960 model. It didn't have seat belts or a gas gauge, just a 1 gal reserve tank that you could switch to with your foot when the car started to run out of gas. Dad bought it new in 1960, and at the time, you had to place an order and then wait 2-3 months for it to arrive from Germany. I think he said he paid $1200 for it at the time. I inherited it in 1985, dropped a new engine in it for $200 and continued to drive it for years.

I eventually totaled it on the Oakland freeway, but that's a story for another day...
