Random Thought Thread

They recently changed some laws here in North Carolina where, if you want to buy a gun, you pretty much just can buy whatever you want.

Having grown up without this, it's pretty wild.

They also recently passed "constitutional carry" but then they never signed it into law.

based on what we've seen in other parts of the country I feel like that's all a little backwards

good for you guys though!

I hope it doesnt turn NC into the old west with more shootouts and stuff.

Implying i believe in the historical narrative of the old west.

It looks like SC is trying for Constitutional Carry this year. Maybe if that happens, it’ll tip NC over the edge into codifying it.

MI OTOH, passed a bunch of new BS last year, that goes into effect in 3 days, including UBCs.

Meanwhile, in Idaho...

On Thursday, February 7th, Senate Bill 1291 was introduced in the state legislature. SB 1291 prohibits public contracts with individuals or companies that are boycotting certain industries, including those that engage in or support the manufacture, distribution, sale, or use of firearms. This bill would require those who contract with the state to disclose if their policies discriminate against the firearms industry.

We have had Constitutional Carry here for a while now, and Castle Doctrine for longer than that. I still maintain and just renewed my Enhanced Carry Permit for multiple reasons, though.

Now, even more enhanced...

(NC has pretty strong Castle Doctrine protection. And yeah, I have belt and suspenders myself. State permit and LEOSA.)
