Nathan will rub our noses in it; he'll never let us live it down. Quick! Someone order swords!Random thought:
Is CPK about to make history, with a pre-order actually being left open for a week?

Someone tried to drive across my lawn then through the utility pole and then the tree behind it around 1 AM Sunday. He snapped the utility pole in two places. My wife called 911 and I went to check on the driver. I couldn’t see anything because all his airbags went off - I was afraid to open the door after seeing how much damage there was. He was fine.I ran over a deer that was laying in the road with my truck and trailer last night.
This guy in the oncoming lane had his high beams on and would not dim them so I couldn't see or I could have avoided it.
The truck and trailer are fine but I was so shook that I forgot to turn around and follow him home and murder him.

Agree, 300 preorders in a week for a sword with a base price of $1,830 is huge, but the only reason it took this long is the base price and availability of 300 swords. If it were any knife in the same quantity and $600, it would have sold out in minutes. You are probably right, but the K20 is a very different animal than the knives. I bet the next knife presale sells out in a matter of minutes.
I think the lead time is a factor also.Agree, 300 preorders in a week for a sword with a base price of $1,830 is huge, but the only reason it took this long is the base price and availability of 300 swords. If it were any knife in the same quantity and $600, it would have sold out in minutes.

Maybe a bit. The lead is pretty normal for CPK, though a lot of the newer folks may not have been aware of that, so it may have put off some of the newbies. I think we've had an influx of interest because of the viral (for knives, anyway) cutting videos have drawn a lot of traffic. I saw a ton of new low-count posters and new faces to the subforum in the preorder thread. CPK's popularity is definitely on the rise.I think the lead time is a factor also.

I tell you what, though, I've participated in every CPK preorder for about five years or so and never regretted one of them. Always ended up patting myself on the back for gritting my teeth and putting up my money, because when they start coming off the production line, the weeping and gnashing of teeth at the people who now have to scramble for Friday sales to get one, often at a higher price than the preorder, tells me participating in the preorders is always worth it!
Other big factor is that this is the 2nd preorder for the K20, so this was basically for the stragglers who missed out on the OG preorder, and newbies who’ve only recently discovered CPK.Maybe a bit. Bank was trying to talk me into their CDs, talking about the 5.25% for the 6-month CD.Maybe a bit. Yep also true, although I see a lot of us who were in on the first preorder kind of sheepishly raising our hands in the K20.1 preorder thread...Other big factor is that this is the 2nd preorder for the K20, so this was basically for the stragglers who missed out on the OG preorder, and newbies who’ve only recently discovered CPK.
I've noticed a small but important change with the Blade Forum software where subscribed email notifications to the dedicated individual CPK For Sale Exchange thread no longer provide any details of the f/s post?
No description or pricing info??
Has anyone else observed this change??
Old Example with description and pricing:
New Example with just the title:
You now have to click on the "view this thread button" to read the details of the f/s post.
The same blank message area is received now when I get a PM alert via email. I imagine it's to tighten security and keep forum business on the forum as opposed to spread hither and yon...but I'm just spitballing.

In the Tech Forum, Spark said he disabled it.
“I'm getting tired of telling people they are replying to the email notifications instead of responding to the private message or thread tbqf. This will prob change back in the near future.”
It’s here if you want to read it:

Email notifications no longer include the post payload in the body. Is that an intentional change?www.bladeforums.com
