We get the Sandhill cranes migrating through here as well. Their song/call is quite interesting and cool to hear.
I only got to hear the Eastern Towhee this morning.

Almost prehistoric sounding isn’t it? Had a bunch of these in the yard when we lived in Fl.We get the Sandhill cranes migrating through here as well. Their song/call is quite interesting and cool to hear.
Exactly what they sound like. Excellent way to describe their call.Almost prehistoric sounding isn’t it? Had a bunch of these in the yard when we lived in Fl.
So cool, right?Found the sound on YouTube:
We have tons of geese here, that are pretty loud. Every so often you hear the cranes in between.
I’d try it. However, there is no crane open season where I am.
Jeez, thought you were older. Congrats! Are you going to college?

I keep getting a crane permit with my annual small game license in the hopes that some day I'll have an unexpected opportunity during Dove or Pheasant season. Hasn't happened yet, but we hear them every so often. See lots of them flying over migrating in September/October during muzzleloader season. Very interesting sounds they make way up in the sky in their flocks. Once you know what it is, you learn to look WAY up there for them.Oh man. The Ribeye of the Sky™.
Unlike a few years ago when we got 8" that day and the venue had to be changed.Glad the weather held up!
Always a good idea to carry a chainsaw.
