Yes, you’ll have to try Texas brisket. Like oldmanwilly oldmanwilly said, it’s excellent. I’ll add, some places are excellent and others places are an out-of-this-world experience.

Now we can fight over which ones we think are the best. 🤺

In NYC we used to go down to McCann's pub for great brisket sandwiches in the mid 70's. Of course, Jewish delis had great brisket as well.

Probably lots of ethnic groups have some excellent recipes for brisket.

Oh my, I'm a total sucker for a Reuben sandwich stacked thickly with good pastrami. And I'm a big fan of thinly sliced brisket, grilled hot and fast at Korean BBQ (which, frankly isn't really BBQ, it's just grilling. Not that I'm complaining...). And Bún Bò Hué and/or Phó with tender brisket is miraculous.

My thought on brisket vs tri tip (I'm a fan of both!)

Brisket to me is a bigger group smoke ... and will produce 2 totally different style cuts.... the fatty point and the lean flat .... more labor intensive but the pay off is for a larger group

Tri tip is prefect for me on most of my cooks when for a smaller group.. half the cook time even less in the rest (I do a longer restaurant style rest on my brisket) and fantastic flavor

But I will say.... on a great brisket cook.. when you give it a slap and it jiggles like Beyonce twerkin..... it still brings a smile to my face lol
