More people need to start using their CPKs. Too many display them as bling or knife jewelry and don’t really get to experience the characteristics that set CPK apart from most of the others. They were R&D’d for ergonomic grips and awesome steel for prolonged hard use. That is all!
Man do I have an ergonomic shifter for your truck 😉

OMG you are a genius!!!!!!!

I'll take a folding skinner and folding field knife

But damn.... folding skinner.... that would be phenomenal!!!!
Would it?? I mean skinning is a dirty job. A folder with gapped scales, pivots, bushings, bearings. A locking mechanism of some sort. You would have blood, guts, hair in all those crevices and moving parts to get gunked up. I’ll stick with a fixed blade.

Not actually for skinning use , the design would be perfect for an EDC folding/slicing machine

You know, I totally agree. But at the same time, I’m still very grateful to the people who keep their knives literally untouched and in perfect condition, with the original factory edge intact.

Because I’m a complete beginner, and there’s a huge number of CPK blades I simply wouldn’t have been able to get if someone hadn’t sold them in ideal condition — and for me that’s really important. I’m extremely curious and genuinely interested in examining every little detail on the knife, including the factory sharpening.

And thanks to the people who have preserved their CPK blades in perfect shape for many, many years, I’ve basically been able to acquire them by buying from someone.

I haven’t been into this for that long, you know. My desire to own a particular CPK knife/model grew exponentially. The first one was the FK3, and I wanted something else… but when I finally managed to get a Medium Chopper — oh man…

that’s when it really took off.I think I’ve reprofiled / resharpened that Medium Chopper like 50+ times. And all of it just from regular, constant use.At the same time, I found it in pristine condition. So — big thanks to the guy who kept it that way!

By re-sharpening each CPK blade so many dozens of times, I feel like I now know literally every little nuance on the cutting edge. I can even answer for myself why and for what reason that particular blade was ground or set up the way it was.

The only thing is, I’ve got this Fat Bastard, and I only cut potatoes and turkey ham with it, because I’m scared of damaging it or something. I’m worried that beef might somehow ruin it, or that the knife might even break — who the hell knows…
