A lot of people do in my area. But there are some older homes that do not. In fact it’s now building code in the state for AC. But up until mid 2000s is was rather uncommon.

A lot of places in Tacoma/Seattle and north do not have it.

It’s pretty common overall. But it’s common to have a Gas furnace and not use AC until now and well most people do not maintain their stuff and filters being clogged or thinking they are saving money by turning off their system really screws it all up.
