Today I discovered that my wisdom tooth has erupted.

It was probably growing for a while, but I only noticed it now.

I don’t feel any pain yet, but I have a feeling that sooner or later it might start bothering me.

I’m not going to die, right?

Tell me some good stories about this, because so far I’ve only heard scary ones. 🥹

The pain associated with this is said to create new neural pathways in the brain.

You will become wise.

I still have my janky wisdom teeth, crooked and all. They are a matched set with my still intact tonsils. Mild irritation from the teeth, nothing major or worrisome. YMMV

My dad taught dentistry, but didn't have a practice. He yanked 2 of my wisdom teeth during his lunch hour at the college. He didn't give me anything for pain, basically told me to walk it off. I remember spitting a little blood in the parking lot and driving home.

ETA he did my brother's in the living room...

A couple years ago my daughter had hers done. Anaesthesia, a ride had to be there waiting, medication for a week. A big production. Mine was simpler.

And yet I'll wager she's better looking than you. ☺️
