And I still haven’t seen an official “Soorrrry…”The current Canadian wildfires are now causing the worst AQI in 4 North American cities, Detroit, Minneapolis, Toronto and Chicago which now far exceed those the usual suspects like the AQI in Delhi, Doha, Tel Aviv and Lahore!
This reminds me of the part in the Constantine movie where he goes to hellSmoke like that is no fun at all.
We want through that for a few years here, although that was mostly our power provider burning our own state down. I'd never wanted an air purifier before, ended up buying a rather expensive one.

Someone else pointed this out, but I don’t recall regular instances of Canadian wildfire smoke blanketing the Midwest nearly every summer, until the last few years.
I don’t really recall it much at all 2-3 decades ago, and I personally hate smoke of any kind (even stuff like incense and candles), so it would’ve stood out to me.
As I said elsewhere, there are over 800 wildfires in Canada currently. Just under 70 are out of control. There are not enough firefighters in the hemisphere to put them all out. The heavy smoke is often grounding their firefighting aircraft and the terrain and lack of roads is making fighting on the ground near impossible. They are doing triage now and only protecting critical infrastructure. It's probably politics.....
I heard when we were little, they used to put them out, fight the fires so we weren't affected down here..... Now, it's "natural" to just let them burn.
I'm all for controlled burns. They are Needed for a healthy ecosystem, but this seems weird/wrong.
