Random Thought Thread

Random. Some of the HOA’s are truly nuts. We are planning to move, and I was looking into buying a nice 5 acre tract to build a home. It is close to where we want to be, and convenient for what we want. The HOA does not allow motorcycles, boats, trailers or motorhomes to ENTER the subdivision! Crazy!

We are also looking for a place to settle down, after roaming around the last few years. If there is an HOA of anykind, it will not be considered.

No kids, wife works from home, and im a jack of all trades. So precise location isnt as important to us as some others.

Kinfolk said "Jed, move away from there!"

Another house was checking into has an HOA that does not allow fencing to be any wider than the actual house, and cannot block more than 30% of the view. I want a big yard to allow dogs to play, have a garden, and to shoot a bow- I want a fence!

There is a home on 5 acres that has an HOA, but it is focused on keeping the roads kept up- that I like.

Blues- I promise I won’t trash the neighborhood!🤣

Well that should open up a lot of options for y’all. Being just an hour away from the larger cities or popular placed really drops home prices.

Ex: where we are looking, a 3BR 2 BA on 2-5 acres in one area of the state costs $50,000 more than a similar house on 30-50 acres 3 hrs away.

My wife plans to be working for a while(I am retired), so being a reasonable commute is needed. Otherwise I would be in the boonies.
