People used to kid about Kansas being as flat as a pancake, lol. Until a satellite topographic study was done and it turns out its flatter than a pancake. Nobody laughed anymore...... Actually I like it here. I'm right outside of Kansas City so its all good. But when the "Ski Kansas" poster shows a guy dropping in from a bale of hay....you gotta have fun with it.

And the view from atop Mt. Sunflower! Breathtaking. :D

You and I must make a very serious effort to get together one of these moons once some semblance of normalcy is restored to our lives to share a beer or two (or three and more :D) to both salute and cheer our beloved Nathan/Jo/CPK and those brethren from afar. I'm not going to be going as far as NC but who knows, I have a 4Runner and I'm willing to travel. I also thank you for your (plus everyone else's) kind words and sympathies in my loss and my pain.

Nathan, thank you for speaking up and putting your weight behind a legitimate cause which I believe will make the entire Site a more enjoyable experience for knife enthusiasts. You're a great guy and don't let anyone tell you otherwise :D
I would like that.

If any of you guys are ever in NorCal, be sure to hit me up:)

Last time I was in NorCal, I got the biggest ticket I have ever received. Apparently, passing a semi while pulling a 10' trailer on the highway is a big no-no. Here in Oregon, though we have a separate speed limit for semis on the freeways, we do not make other vehicles that are hauling small trailers, RVs, boats etc. abide by the same limit.

It also didn't help that I didn't know how big the ticket was going to be until they mailed it a couple months later. I'm still pretty steamed about it...

Edit to add: All that to say, though I am not in a huge hurry to travel to NorCal as a result, it isn't improbable.

Same here if anyone finds themselves in New England.

I hope to travel east when this virus stuff is handled and becomes old news. I have lots of family in Maine and I usually fly into Boston and then drive up to Maine - it's generally cheaper than flying into Portland.

I've met quite a few folks in person here on BF, I'm always down to meet more.
