Last time I was in NorCal, I got the biggest ticket I have ever received. Apparently, passing a semi while pulling a 10' trailer on the highway is a big no-no. Here in Oregon, though we have a separate speed limit for semis on the freeways, we do not make other vehicles that are hauling small trailers, RVs, boats etc. abide by the same limit. It also didn't help that I didn't know how big the ticket was going to be until they mailed it a couple months later. I'm still pretty steamed about it... Edit to add: All that to say, though I am not in a huge hurry to travel to NorCal as a result, it isn't improbable. I hope to travel east when this virus stuff is handled and becomes old news. I have lots of family in Maine and I usually fly into Boston and then drive up to Maine - it's generally cheaper than flying into Portland. I've met quite a few folks in person here on BF, I'm always down to meet more.
Welp, we've managed to pull enough power today that we've tripped the transformer. Ran on generator for a while. The power company had to come out and reset us.
It's good that there's a trip on the transformer. It sucks when you melt the supply lines going from the transformer to your power panel!
For a small fee, I think I can get a rider inserted in the next Covid relief bill bannning the shipping of sharpened swords in interstate commerce . . . for safety. Yeah, safety - that's the ticket! Then you can tell the rest of the folks that you would love to sharpen their sword for them, but you just can't legally send it to them that way . . . Darn!
I can't recall who it was who volunteered to host a BF/CPK/blade enthusiasts get together/campout, especially after everyone had received their K18s. I'd still like to go to something like that when things get a little more back to normal.
