We've had no issues with blades going into the EU really- we've had one confiscated due to confusion about the type of rosewood in our handles going into switzerland. If you go with a micarta/stacked leather handle, and a traditional khukuri pattern you should be good everywhere in the world.

I am so torn... Leave it unopened just like the day it left Jo's dutiful care, packaged and sealed, in the plastic bag with the perfectly tied knot sealing it up (you know it's in that bag any you will have to carefully work the knot out), or... tear it open with reckless abandon?!
