Random Thought Thread

Random thought:

The original Utility Fighter goes by the acronym UF. In the preorder, Nathan offered the option for a Double Edged Fighter that goes by the acronym DEF.

The new iteration is the UF2, but there's an option for a Double Edged Dagger. Does that make it the DED? Seems fitting for a double edged knife designed primarily as a weapon.

I was actually gonna keep calling it a DEF and add leopard spots instead of tiger stripes to mine😁

Yeah, rub it in why dontcha🤬😉 It's my one piece that doesn't match everything else in OD micarta😪
S'ok. Grenock will probably be along with a wordy post that eventually ends in offering to take it off your hands so you can better allocate the funds elsewhere 😁

P.S.
Just to rub it in a little more, I ended up selling the satin DEF with ODG Micarta handles I preordered 😋

You did your senior thesis on what three CPKs you would take camping and I am the wordy one? That’s cold, Max.

Oh, and rubbing it in would actually be more like letting Chip know that now that I know his UF is at least in OD Green something, I might hold onto the OD Green micarta he knows I have, just a little longer because it makes me smile a bit. Yes, I am a dickhead.

Had to give you a little grief after the "3 sit downs to read" post 😁

Looks beautiful! Where is it and how long did it take you to get there?

We were completely off grid by Smith River on Southfork Rd but the closest sign of civilization is this little hamlet named Hiouchi (10 miles of winding roads from us) and the nearest city is Crescent City which is in Del Norte County where the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park is. We drove and it's a very looong drive from here in San Diego because the best way to get there is through HWY 5 north to Medford Oregon and then hanging southwest on HWY 199 from OR toward CA going through Grants Pass and those areas in OR. This route is about 80 miles longer but you will travel faster than going up north on 1 and 101 while suffering the constant stop and go traffic. Additionally you can also make stops at interesting places like Shasta Lake and a whole host of other interesting spots. Funnily, a lot of us down here in the south Cali refer to the Bay Area and north but the true north Cali is still 300 miles plus from the Bay Area. All in all, it is a 19 hour drive (950-1050 miles depending on the route option and a few pit stops) so you will have to stay somewhere like in-between overnight if traveling with family, wife, kids, dog, etc.

We took equipments, lots of gear, fishing poles, guns, generators, dog, yada, yada so we had to drive but flying out to Medford OR and then getting a rental vehicle is another very viable option if traveling light and tourist like. This little pup below, Rocky, was born in the bushes up there so after almost 9 months, my Brother (his dog) brought him with to visit his mom (Angel, the darker one) for the second time. Rocky is a Chesapeake and Pit mix but unlike a real Chesapeake, he didn't seem to take too keenly to the river although he does have the webbed paws!

Finally had an LC return home from another CPKer after it spent a month up the a-hole of the USPS that is the Richmond, VA Distribution Center. Arrived there on April 30th, didn’t move again until May 30th. USPS could tell me nothing that I couldn’t see in tracking history myself, “In transit, arriving late”. This is the second time I have had a knife take a long rest coutesy of those asshats in Richmond. If you have to ship a knife and USPS routing will send it through that shithole, please use some other carrier.
