Randomly met a fellow member in real life

Spent a day at the Blade show...booth 700 and 8 something were my first stops. Remained incognito in spite of the best efforts of many who wanted to know if I was a member of such and such forum; I said I don't participate on forums.;)

I only know one other member personally but I didn't join until recently and the other member I have known a few years.

But yes I know the feeling of running onto or meeting up with a member or members of a forum. I'm a member of a gun forum and I've met up with a few of the guys before and it really is fun meeting the person behind the username. There's some really interesting characters out there that's for sure ;)

I was talking to my uncle about a month or two ago, and I told him about this cool new website called "BladeForums". Turns out he has been a member for years. Besides my Uncle, I have never met anyone from BF randomly, but I have met members at knife shows.

I see some pocket clips belonging to high quality knives now and then. The other day while at Cabela's, I saw a kid getting an employee to pull out every fixed-blade they had. It seemed like he knew what he was talking about.

I know I live in the same (very) small town with at least two other members, odds are I have met them and not known it

Uh oh, you didn't have a blade on you. Unfortunately that's a fail bro!

I know 2 guys at work who carry clip-out. I didn't ask about 'em until I got to know them a bit.
One (Kershaw) is a kinfe (and gun) aholic, but doesn't like to spend money. The other (Spyderco, typically, but I noticed he switched to BM when his 300 came in) fancies himself a knife guy. He's really just learning, but started up a company with some friends to have a fixed-blade made. Neither of them are on the forum.

I see guys all the time with clips. I don't normally approach strangers to ask 'em what's in their pocket. Occasionally when I see one from the Big 3 I am tempted - but I usually keep quiet.
I did ask a guy at a plastics shop which BM he was carrying, though he used a utility knife for the task at hand. He showed me, but wasn't overly interested.

Wasn't random, but I recently met a forum member. He's making a sheath for me. Very cool guy.

I sell beer for a Northern California brewery, one of my customers who owns a beer bar is one of us!! One day I mentioned something about knives and he quickly pulls a Case Folding Hunter and a Case Canoe out of his pocket. We even had a beer and blades party the other month and met another BF member who was a customer, he had a Protech OTF auto and the bar owner had an Emerson Mini A-100.
We are thinking of having a NorCal BF member get together someday in the future.
