Range Boss or Tuff Lite

I bought a Range Boss as well and ended up with 4116 instead of the 4034 I expected. Still processed my little pile of cardboard with no complaint.

did ya end up with an older stock 4116 steel or newer stock 4034 steel version?

that's kinda weird those pocket clip screws screw into a small piece of metal inside the scale. it maybe aluminum...don't know didn't look at hard. it should be pretty stable. if it's aluminum piece it will be easy to strip. go easy on it when tightening.....
It's an older stock 4116, which I'm not entirely familiar with. But it seems fine so far. I BELIEVE that the liner is all steel. I don't think it stripped out, I think it just needs to be tighten which I still haven't done. 🤣

In my defense I'm finishing up a remodel of a rental and haven't had the time to bother.

The Tuff Lite I picked up is in AUS 8A but I'm not sure if they've changed the steel on that model anyways.

I have both.

The Range Boss stays in my left pocket, the Tuff Lite stays in a drawer. Light and thin but still Cold Steel tough.

The Range Boss replaced the Endura I carried for decades, similar size and I like a 4" folder for EDC.

The Tuff Lite has always been AUS8A. The first run of the Mini Tuff also was AUS8A; when it was reintroduced it was changed to 4034, although the earliest of the reintroduced ones were AUS8A.

Another vote for the Tuff Lite. I have had one for years. Both of my sons also have a Tuff Lite and get lots of use from them.

Have been carrying a range boss for the last couple weeks and it's great tho the scales texture is really aggressive. I had a tuff lite till I gave it to my son but didn't really use it prior to that. I originally got the range boss since I like the size of my voyager large it's same dimensions except the really thin scales. The only thing I'd like is the range boss to have a bit thicker scales and add a full or partial scale liners for strength. The range boss steel have been great so far it touches up real easy and I've cut a ton with it.
