Ranger Knives

I have RD 6, not RD 9; and Eric of On/Scene Tactical made my sheath!! I HIGHLY recommend On/Scene Tactical!!

Eric does great work. He made a sheath for my Busse BA-E once. I'll have to contact him regarding a sheath for my RD-9. Thanks. :)

With the anticipation of the Busse "Test Videos" I was wondering if there are any threads or footage of Justin's line being tested. You know: Chopping concrete blocks, being bent into a pretzel and returning to normal. etc... Just curious because I really love my RD-9.

You guys are a bad influence!!!!

Just got off the phone with Justin and ordered a new RD6 with orange G-10 handles. (Thanks in part to that great pic in the above post) Justin was a very nice guy to talk to. I can't wait until it gets here. :D :D

Anyone interested in an upgrade, just drop me an email or PM.

I would love to see some of the tuned RDs. Some of his customs fit me really well but the standard RD's never fit my hand comfortably.

Justin does do awesome work and stands completely behind it!

(Dantor - Sweet looking RD!)

Just ordered another RD-9 in satin finish w/brown micarta scales. Love that new clip point. Great price for a semi-custom (< $150).

Scott gave my Rd-4 the treatment and It is one helluva knife:thumbup: . The best fixed blade in that size for the money!

Thanks guys, poor MD13s got the "BUG!" LOL. I've been beating on that knife and it shows no signs of wear, battening, chopping, slicing, carving; it's really nice. I have noticed that G10 does get/feel cold in colder weather, like metal, you do have to warm it up a bit to get that comfortable feeling. With that bright orange it will be way easier to spot if I ever drop or lose it out in the wilderness.

Hehe, thanks to your pic Dantor, that's the 3rd knife this week that I've bought. :D I love the look of the orange G10, and it matches some other orange g10 Bark Rivers I have. When I was talking to Justin, I mentioned your pic and asked if he could give me the same handle. I opted to stay with the black coating. He said it should ship out tomorrow.

So kool MD13, your gonna luv it! I hear the black coating does protect the metal more but it does wear off. I sanded the handles some to fit my hand, it was no problem. I can't wait for your pictures..

I discovered that sheath flaw quite by accident while placing the knife in my day bag. Fell right out of the sheath and into the bag, it could have been ugly if it landed on my foot. IMO, the retaining strap placement is all wrong, it wraps around the widest part of the grips. I guess the sheaths are more universal than anything else and are furnished to keep the final cost of the Ranger down. My complaints about the sheath aside, the knife is a stout user, no doubt about it, meant to be used and abused.

Agree about the retaining strap placement. I removed mine (very carefully) and repositioned it lower on the sheath, re-sewing it in place using a large craft needle and some 20# Spiderwire fishing line. Works like a charm now. One of these days I hope to get some pics up of this and some other "mods" I've done to my RD7 rig.

I've got an RD-7 thats held up to a fair amount of chopping and batoning. It's not a looker, but a worker.

I also have an RD-6 and RAK that haven't seen much use yet.

One thing's for sure, buying a new Ranger is a no-risk investment. If you have any problem with it, Justin will replace it no questions asked, and quickly.

I have considered doing the same thing...if I wasn't such a procrastinator it would be done now.

I got it just six days after ordering. Already scratched it. Time to sharpen it. Here it is along side some similar knives.
