Where do you folks buy your Ranger knives? Anyone on this site sell them?

it may be hard to find the exact ranger your looking for right now since justin sold production right to ontario knife co.

under contract with ontario justin really isnt allowed to sell any production pieces along with the merchandising and it looks like it will be a few months before rangers start rolling off the ontario production line since the deal is fairly recent.

so if you can find someone like that has some left like maybe brigade quartemaster or look for ones on the secondary market.

i know there are a few out their as we speak at other forums.

everybody is sort of in limbo right now but once thing get cooking we'll have a wild fire on our hands.

and if you thought becker or R.A.T. where big........

justin is the man. He will make you whatever you want. Ranger knives.com, or his KF forum.

I'm lucky enough to have four of justin's knives, the one I carry the most is a custom RD. All were purchased here or on KF. I've talked to Justin on the phone and he seemed like a Hell of a nice guy. I have never read anything negative about him or his knives.

I think there's a RD9 listed in the for sale by individual now.

Not to highjack this but...

I hope Ontario does a better job of integrating Ranger than KaBar did with Becker. We have been waiting for blades from them for over 6 months, and last I talked to Kabar they said nothing, except the Necker, until after Blade 2009. Even worse, Blade magazine reported one of the Necker designs will be made in CHINA!

Hopefully Ontario's quality comes back up, it would be a shame to ruin the good name of Ranger Knives.

As long as the steel and heat treat are good, the Rangers will be fine. They keep prices reasonable by not spending much time on the finish work.

I keep hearing about the poor quality of Ontario knives. I have a lot of them and so far not a single problem. I must be lucky.

It's hit and miss with them more than most knife companies, that's all. If you get a good one, then you do have a good one.

Can't doubt it, just hasn't happened to me yet. The same can be said for about anyone who makes things with Machinery. Things never always come out perfect.

It's Ontario's regular employees who keep that company from going under in spite of the senior management and the parent company. The only ones who know anything about knives are the people who work there, not the management...

The employees are honest and have integrity.

The management of Ontario absolutely does not.

I can't judge them based on the only side of the story that ever gets presented here. You may be right.

I have reviewed more than one Ranger knife and am in the process of evaluating another. I've been quite pleased with them, and Justin is a very nice fellow.

according to justin ontario is looking to get the first batch out by the 4th quarter.i can almost guarantee you wont see the ka-bar/becker type problem

i am curious to hear more about ontarios management problems.it wouldnt surprise me,sounds like my job.....to many chiefs & not enough indians and the management are all armchair quarterbacks who never see the trenches.
