Ranger RD7 & RAT7 Comparison W/Pictures

Great pics! That custom RD7 is a real work of art!

I have both too, but in standard congfig. The RD7 could have some more handle area, or at least the back part close to the lanyardhole should be more strait instead of curved downwards. But it's fine for me.

The RD is a knife for abuse and almost begs for it. The RAT is a great knife that can be used for chopping and is also good at slicing. It has more flex when turning it when it's stuck in a log. But.....they are both excellent performers.

I actually much prefer the handle on the RD7 to the one on the RAT7.

It still surprises me when I see how thick the Rangers are when being compared in photos with other fixed blades. Those things are absolute tanks. Definitely have one on my wishlist, only question is what kind of scales I want . . .

same here,,,

Does anyone have any pics of an RD7 which is 3/16ths thick?

Here are some of a 3/16" RD5 and a Rat-7.

The Ranger is a "full" 3/16", wheras the Rat seems to be just 3/16".

Sorry the pics are crappy, I can take some others at alternate angles outside tomorrow if you'd like.

Also, the white liners and satin blade next to the black blade of the Rat make for an optical illusion that makes the Ranger seem much thicker. Although it is a hair thicker.

Wow, just looking at the blades past the handles, the RD5 still looks so much thicker. Thanks very much. Can't wait for mine to arrive.
