Raptor 2 by Steve Likarich

Steve Likarich probably isn't a household name, but he makes some of the cleanest knives around (I'm talking SR Johnson clean - Yes I have some SR Johnson's to compare). He was the maker of the knives for the movie "Long Kiss Goodnight" (I have one of those as well). This particular piece has ivory handles, anodized titanium liners, stainless bolsters, and a beautifully ground mirror polished blade. His signature is the deep and intricate file work. Few can match it. It's difficult to tell in the picture, but the filework reflects the colors of the titanium to give it a jeweled effect. This piece isn't just for looks either. Feels great in the hand and is as sharp as it looks! I just ordered another "wicked" piece from him today :D

Where is a good place to browse his knives? or buy them?

A little personal, but how much did you spend?

whatever it is they cost, the pics make me feel it cheap at twice his price.

those things emote grace and style, fear and beauty all at once.

wow.

All I can say is WOW:eek:
Is the Kerambit a folder? Fixed or folder, they are amazing! Very nice indeed.

The Raptor 2 is a fixed blade.....

You can find more pictures of his work in the past issues of the Knives annuals. Not too much on the web. Few are found on the secondary market. I know where an "entry level" piece is available. If interested shoot me an email.

As above, is there any email for Steve?

The guy makes awesome knives, mostly only very high end arty stuff, but the work he puts into them are amazing.
He has a very minimum of tools and does a LOT of work by hand.

I did a search on him, and he has a couple of knives listed on Arizona Custom Knives. WOW!!!! link here

I don't know how I've missed this maker's work. He has a great style. VERY appealing and complex.

Thanks for the post!!

when i look at the hole in the blade, the lines of the edge and the bolster, it reminds me of the TNT...i guess its just the shape of beauty...if anyone wants a kidney for one give me a call, they tell me i have two :D

Steve and I go back a while.Used to ride with him and he used to offer to make me knives.Should have had him make me a truckload.Nice stuff.See him at Solvang every year, and his knives are in great demand.Trying to talk him into doing the B.A,K.C.A Show. We'll see.

Hi guys, this is my first post, and I am reviving an old thread, too! :p

My first search came up with this thread. I am a fan of Mr. Likarich's work, as I have owned one of his pieces before. I bought a beautiful knife from him at the 2000 Solvang show (hopefully the picture will show up). I loved the knife, but had to sell it when I was out of work for a while.

Another thing about Steve... he used to be a jewelry maker, which is why his work is so beautiful, artistic, and detailed all at once.

Alright, see you guys on the forum. :)

Edit: How do I post a picture? I think you guys will like this knife...

Reviving an old thread is considered bad form at best.
But welcome, and please don't pull old posts, it's a real quick way for folks to get annoyed. Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome. Why is it considered bad form to revive an old thread? On the other forums I visit, the first thing preached to new members is to use the search function....
