Rare 34ot - bid now!

Well done Phil. I deleted 3/4 of my post above because I did call names in it. And pointed out the socio-economic ramifications of the mentioned knife-like objects.

We definitely want to see a picture of that 34ot!
LOL be glad to obleeg Reloader.
Easiest way (and I doubt I could do any better on the pics) will be for viewers to pull up the ebay auction photos Item # 6616231241. Only one I've ever seen and hard to beat the condition so just had to run with the big dogs or get back on the porch, ya know? All I can say is I'm sure glad I got some Ca$h for my B'day in Feb., Only way I could have gotten it.
I do have a dux unlaminated 834 I was thinking about swapping the bolsters when this one arrives. Anyone know how to do that?? Thanks, & enjoy.

(If I paid too much, don't tell me) lol I do think it qualifies as being on topic for this thread which if I recall correctly is titled "Rare 34OT Bid NOW!" which is perxactly what I did on this baby.

Wosey,
That's a dandy! :D
I don't think the price was that bad.either.
It sure isn't a "carry" knife,though!

Thanks Ron, I was going to use the box to hold some small metric screws and the pouch I need to keep an old pipe I don't use anymore in, and like I said need to swap the bolsters over to an SDU834 I got someswhere....but now that you brought it up, maybe I'll just carry it....over to the bank and put it in a safely deposited box!!

And I'm with you delander, One 25th SSA edition i$ about all I can afford al$o. Next one I "need" that would be hard to pass up is an '83 Heritage 8341 if there is such a thing. I know they had them in '85, so figured an '83 is plausable. That would give me 4 1983 Schrade Heritages, enough to circle around the 34 OT SSA Ed. Not too shabby for a $mall time collector in MHO

Well I typed one reply and hit submit, went to pull chicken off the grill and when I got back no post! Must be a time limit on typing a post.
If so, I guess I better do a shorter version so here goes..
Thanks Phil, you know I appreciate your advice and guidance. Aaannndddd..
guess what showed up today? That's right a box with the 34 S.A. along with the same seller's other item won a 1983 Schrade Heritage red Barlo 2661-R.

This guy must be a brain surgeon or the guy that packs astronauts into their sterile environment B4 launch. I bet donor organs aren't packed for transit this well. 34OT and all it's packaging are pristine. Outer brown cardboard box with ser. no. and pattern stamped on outside included. Old Timer wooden box has jewelry box type hook clasp and hinges. Knife in oily plastic bag but no smudges on box liner. No marks on box at all.Papers crisp, fresh and unwrinkled or creased. Details on knife exact, no flaws. Everything so pristine I packed it up before I messed anything up!
The blue top Heritage box still had the white outer sleeve with 2661-R stamped on it and no marks, corner dings or anything. Papers fresh and knife in plastic bag, no oil on old gold lining. hard to believe either one is over 20 yrs old.
I do feel fortunate to have the privilege of custody of these two fine examples of American cutlery for however long I am granted such privilege. I'm sure they will both outlast me.
I'd like to holler "Thanks socalindy!" I do wonder a bit why he had to part with them, but I reckon that falls under the category of being a nunya.
Also thanks gang for allowing me to share my good fortune with ya. :)
