Up for sale is a super rare, perfectly preserved piece by Jim Ray and hand-ground by Walter Brend. Aside from being incredibly rare, in that only 50 were made, the scales AND BLADE of this knife are titanium. Obviously this is not a carry piece, but a representation of an achievement by Jim Ray. The mirror black finish on the blade was created by flaming the titanium in the presence of a proprietary gaseous mixture. The knife has a recessed, oval-shaped firing button. It fires like it's brand new, and there is a small amount of blade play at the top (hasn't changed since it was purchased). The knife was purchased with a custom leather presentation case. The case is coffin-style, with a beautiful swede interior. Hand-crafted by Edd Lucas. There's a good chance that one of these won't make it up for sale for years, if ever again. If you'd like to know more about the history of this knife, please let me know! Dealer price on these knives, nearly 20 years ago was over $1300.
