When is the last time you saw a damascus Fogg for sale? Anyone? Bueller?
Exactly.
This is an incredible example of a Fogg, and from what I understand, Don doesn't make damascus knives anymore. Don is widely regarded as having been one of the main people who "reinvented" and made major strides in the art of damascus and this knife is therefore not just a rare knife, but a piece of Fogg, and ABS history.
3.75" uniquely ground blade of a very unusual multi-bar damascus, the seams are there I suppose, but I can't find them.
The damascus was then rust blued and has the look and texture of dark, grayish black slate, it's really amazing steel, it looks more like patterned stone than steel.
The bolsters are a very neat modified ladder pattern, the handle is extremely dense ironwood burl, when the light hits it, you can see an almost damascus-like "dendritic" pattern on the ironwood's surface. The wood has not shrunk one micron since the knife was made several years ago and the full tang is still flush with the wood. The tang is VERY thick, about 1/4" at it's widest! Yes, it is a VERY stout knife and feels very weighty and substantial in the hand. Has his traditional 24K gold cherry blossom maker's inlayed into the blade.
The blade is extremely sharp, and as I said, the knife is in perfect, mint condition.
It comes with a really nice Treestump Leather sheath.
If Don's regular Shivs sell like hotcakes for $700, something like this should be at least twice that, I'm going to price it at $1250, including insured, overnight shipping.
Of course if you don't love it, send it back for a full refund, I'll pay for the return shipping too, I'm that confident it won't be coming back.
If you need to use PayPal, please add the usual 3%, otherwise a postal MO is preferred.
First to email and say they'll take it gets it.
Thanks for looking.
