Hello all, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread discussing the stories behind certain Kershaw Blur knives. More specifically the really rare ones. I often see people who want to start collecting all the blurs and ask for a list of the various models but I never see anyone go into detail about why a certain model is so sought after, why is it so rare, why were so few made ect. So if anyone owns a really rare model or simply knows about the rarer models I'd love to hear what you have to say, Thanks.

The rare models are desired because of their scarcity: obviously.
Certain steel or combinations of steels can add to the value.
There are also different handle colors and blade shapes that add interest.

I believe my oldest has a date of '03 on the blade.

I just started down the rabbit hole of collecting rare Blurs. Does anyone have a relatively current list of sub models with numbers produced? The ones I've seen on BF look to be a few years old and it seems like they are always releasing new versions.

I have an exclusive one - but not rare. Glad to see some Blur love :D

FYI, your green S60V was a blem because of the very small amount made, only something like 15 passed QC. The total amount is less than 400 pieces IIRC, so even the "blem" S60V are pretty rare.

I have the red one that was some on here by Kershaw Guy and is a blem....damned if I can see anything "off" about it. One of my favorites. In my pocket most days

So they made almost 400 and only 15 were at their standards???

Oh, and don't know how rare it is, but here's my blur.

I just won a bid the other day on the bay for a used 1670dh (deer Hunter). Wasn't planning the purchase, but it was the first time I had ever seen one, and couldn't pass up the chance; ssuper stoked I won it!!!
(I'm sure it was somebody else here on BF that was running that price up trying to out do my max bid in the last 5 mins. Almost got me too!)

My girl also litterally just surprised me with a NOS Burnt Orange (cpm-154cm) model, as an early valentine's present, after I came across an authorized dealer site that had it in stock, it arrived today, got the mail about 1.5 hrs ago.

And the "planned" purchase, I got the blue twill model a week ago...

Been busy, and waiting for the DH to arrive (hopefully tomorrow) before taking a pic of all 3 together, but it definitely gave my Blur collection a nice needed boost...

where did you pick up the orange blur from?

Good call on the BOR Blur. One of my all time favorite Blurs.

I was considering buying another before theyre all gone, and keeping it a secret, but for the love of knife knuttism, and my fellow blade brethren, i'll say this; I technically can't say their name via the forum rules, since they are not a featured vendor here on BF, but considering it's a discontinued model that the other vendors don't have in stock, I don't think it's hurting their sales in as much as helping other interested forum members, so I will say, if you go to Kershaw's website and do a search for authorized dealers in Moreno Valley, CA, they might still have some more in stock...
(I checked and it is still listed on their site).

Strategy9,
If you are collecting you might want to check the store again.
The have at least one other model that is getting hard to find.

Well hats off to you sir, you just added that knife to my collection.

Thanks for the heads up!

You can buy me a drink if we ever meet in person ;)

Glad to have helped though...

Here's my 3 latest: the top one is used, but in pretty good shape minus a small ding and nick in the butt of the handle, but as I mentioned above, it's the only one I ever seen, so didn't want to miss out.

Slowly but surely.
