All, I just restored this beautiful "D. Stocking Ft. Atkinson, WIS" antique butcher's knife. I cleaned up the blade, resurfaced the handle scales and did a traditional Aqua Fortis darkening technique. A true mountain man's piece. Very little known about this maker's mark, but it caught my attention because I live in Wisconsin. It is a simple, no nonsense kind of blade, and an interesting research project if you are interested.

For it's journey, I'll oil the blade with food grade mineral oil since this will most likely come in contact with food. Sad too see it go, but happy that it will be in use for the next generation to enjoy! First one to message gets it!
