Rareness

Buck Custom Shop "Branded Bowie" Model 915, Only 10 were made and sold for a retail price of $6,480. There was a pic of one in Blade magazine in the last couple of years, and is also mentioned in Blade's Guide to Knives & Their Values By Steve Shackleford.

Rarity.

A Koster with only one other(to my knowledge) like it. There was an orange one produced for a passaround, this was the other one he was working on. After much cajoling, I was able to get it from Dan.

I'm afraid to own anything that's rare, especially when it was made with the intention of being used.

Victorinox White handled Scientist, try to find one.

Is it an original, or an original with replaced scales, or a mod?

I've seen several white ones posted. Dd not think they ever came white, though. Were the scales replaced?

It's an original, I had one a long time ago and lost it, didn't realize how rare it was too I tried to replace it, I got mine originally in Europe, I don't know if that had anything to do with availability but they have been hard to find and the ones I do see are expensive.

BTW, that's not my knife in the pic,I found the pic on the web.

Any of the honyaki yanagis are rare because true honyaki yanagis start around 4000-5000 for entry level.

customs can be had for $10,000.00.

But how do you know the white scales were original on the one in the pic? Does yours have white scales?
