Rarest Cold Steel knives?

There's factory micarta handle Trail Master - Flight of the Intruder #16JSB, 500 made. I've never seen one.

(About 1/4 down the page.)

They're nice >>> grab one if you get the chance...

Also the movie it's based on is pretty damn good too! It spotlights an aircraft <A6 Intruder> and the unique missions they were tasked with that most folks don't even know happened, but need to learn about, imho...

As for the blade, iirc, it was one of the first production stainless blades that was attempted to be "blacked out." The results are interesting but a little inconsistent.

The Micarta handle gives a really "warm" feel to the legendary Trail Master.

An added bonus = this iteration of the TM won't melt when hit with DEET ...

The Desperado is ultra cool ,I always wondered why CS discontinued it. I originally bought one and then bought two more when CS found a slightly tarnished batch in a warehouse and sold them at a very reduced price. The Desperado my well be the ultimate small defensive fixed blade and makes you question if you really need any others.

Have you tried a Vaquero? Of course it's a folding blade-- but with the TriAd lock, it's practically as good as a fixed blade.

For knives that were not special editions or limited productions, I think the rarest would be the Urban Shiv and Urban Hunter.

These were among the first knives made by Cold Steel in the early 1980s and by the time I bought my first Cold Steel knife, the Urban Skinner, in 1986 they were discontinued.

The old version of the Urban Pal, which was all metal and had a chisel grind, is probably also rare but not as rare as these two.

Yep, I have the Shiv and the Pal, but think I've only ever seen one Hunter for sale, and wasn't able to get it.

Original Stag Trailmaster in Carbon V

Even more rare than that is the carbon V version made in Japan. The most likely Japanese carbon steel used for that blade was W2, since no one at that time would have been idiotic enough to send steel from the USA to a factory in Japan that's already using quality carbon steels from local mills. W2 was a common carbon steel back then in japan.

Don't think they ever did the stag version in Japan, but I do have one of the regular CV TMs from Japan, with convex edge.

Very cool. I wonder if an etch would bring out a hammon. Not saying you should try that, lol.

There are the purposely done limited/low production Cold Steel products, but there are also the Cold Steel products that simply did not sell well during their initial sales, causing them to be discontinued.
I would guess there to be quite a few models that would be scarce out there because of them being discontinued pretty early on.

One of the rarest Cold Steel Knives - The Imperial Tai Pan! The limited edition Imperial Tai Pan was produced in an exclusive limited run in the ’90s. Made of 161-layer San Mai Damascus steel (consisting of two 80 layer sections laminated around a hard stainless core). Less than 500 were ever made!

I believe the rarest Cold steel knife made was one of their Bowies. I don’t know if it was the Sanchez or what, but it had a custom engraved blade with wild on it. They rent a series of knives like these with different scenes and they were all one of one models, the guy that has the one with the hogs on it is on one of the Facebook called steel fan clubs

Hello all.
I am curious, what are the rarest, hardest to find Cold Steel knives to collect?
There is a cold steel Bowie out there that has wild boar engraved on the blades. It was from a series from Cold steel each model was one of one that was back in the mid 90s I think.
