Rarest Russell Daddy Barlow Lockback Fish Knife

Lee Roark says the same approximately; the curved stamp is circa 1930 and later in his experience.

That is one sweet knife. Add in the rarity, condition and age, just plain WOW! How could anyone not fall in love with it.

I am still wiping drool off my chin on this one.

Tony and Kerry, thank you both for letting us see it.

Gus

The Russells don't look like lockblades in Bernie's book! A typo perhaps??

Tough to say since BRL's book refers to two knives under that pic, so it may just be an editing issue.

However, the knife, the #76 Stag Fisherman, is referenced in Russell's 1930 catalog and includes a depiction of same.

Thanks. It's a privilege to shoot and post these for Tony and I'm happy to do it. I tried to teach the "Old dog" a new trick so he could post them, but he just looked at me with them puppy dog eyes and...well...what can ya do. :D

Remarkable knife and the size:eek:

Looks like some old knives actually improve with age, like wines. Can you put a date on the knife?

Time somebody started re-manufacturing a quality copy for us other un-fortunates:D

Can anybody explain how stage scales are graded? What breed of deer? Age? Are elks used(moose to you)? What is the most prized part of the antler? That stag looks like a rich toffee how do you clean it?
