Rasco's custom

Steven, your feedback and impressions are greatly appreciated... I've only been full time for about a year and half now and am always open to constructive criticism.... as 99% of my business is made to order custom many of my blades are simple in concept to meet a specific design and use criterion... in this case Rasco pulled a pic of an older order from my site and said " like this but..." so I built what he asked for...

With this blade what I am really pleased with is the way the HT came out.. I kept temps at the bottom of the ideal austentizing range and reduced the soak time to get a lower as quenched RC then ran a hot first temper to.pull her down more so that after liquid nitrogen cryo I was able to keep her at 58rc so that even though she is 154cm I am confident she can withstand exceptional abuse.

Thanks for the response.

Obviously, many knifemakers hold performance in the field in high regard...perhaps, in many cases much more so than production companies...it is an element of value and a selling point.

I would posit that any knife that has your name on it at this point, as a full time maker, should also reflect YOUR design values and execution to the highest degree, so that "armchair quarterbacks" such as myself are found to be singing your praises universally, rather than picking apart details for improvement.

Does this make sense? Because although I may be the only vocal critic in this case, it's guaranteed that hundreds of people are looking and not commenting when using BFC as a "reveal" platform.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
