Yep, needed a change of pace and made a couple axe/hatchet pieces. Here's one...
(sorry for the photo, had to do this one outside-too big for the photo box)
This axe is forged from a large farrier's rasp. The head measures 7 1/4" from back to edge, with the edge itself being 2 1/4" long. The edge is hand-rubbed and etched. The shaft is hickory wood, just over 20" in length, with 16 brass pins in the shaft and a buffalo horn cap with brass spacer. The blade sheath, by Tess, has carved horses and a buffalo horn cord fob.
